Karachi – January 9, 2018: Ziauddin University organized a Commencement Day ceremony for the Ziauddin College of Speech Language & Hearing Sciences Batch – XI

Chief Guest of the event Ameena Saiyid, Managing Director, Oxford University Press in Pakistan said that “Communication is very essential in current situation without communication it is impossible to resolve issues and I am confident that after completing your studies all of you will go out and contribute your part for our society and communicate with them”.

While addressing the Orientation Day ceremony as a Guest of Honor Sheema Kermani, Social Activist, Theater Director and an exponent of Bharatnatyam dance said Music and Art regenerate the brain cells and make us feel relaxed. That’s why people in west consider it as a therapy. Unluckily we do not have such facilities in our country for disabled people.

She directly talked to the students and said “Take all your talent to small towns where people are poor and not educated enough to understand about these type of speech and hearing issues so go and help them out”.

Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim, Vice Chancellor, Ziauddin University welcomed the new batch and said that in Pakistan there are more than 23 million children who have communication disability and total number of therapist for this problem is not even 100. I am feeling proud for you all to choose this specific area”.

Earlier, Ms Amina Siddiqui Principle of ZCSLHS Clifton campus in her welcome address appreciated the students of the11th batch of ZCSLHS and wished them good luck for their future educational journey.
